How does a Hydro Flask keep cold?

The hydro flask water bottle is double walls of stainless steel made, with a vacuum insulated layer between the double walls to eliminate heat conduction from inside to outside and outside to inside, because heat can’t go through without air that a vacuum space layer can stop heat conduction to keep you ice cold water inside the bottle to stay cold for long period as much as it pour in innitiallly.

Why did my Hydro Flask stop working?

Now you understanding that a Hydro Flask water bottle rely on the vacuum insulation to keep water cold for a long period and how to tell it is broken. So the main reason why hydro flask stop working is:

01. A visible dent on the Hydro Flask that would cause the two walls of stainless steel has contact together, that makes vacuum insulation disappear and stop working to keep ice cold for a long day period;

02. Some hydro flask water bottle without visible dent but still not working? Why is that? For these hydroflask bottles stop working without visible dent on it, you might purchased a poor vacuum insulation hydro flask water bottle which has manufacturing faulty from the seller, the faulty could be happened by a poor welding Getter which keep vacuum insulation sustainable for years, you can hear a suspect rattle noise, at the beginning, its vacuum insulation is still working, but will getting poor and poor then stop working one day eventually, that’s why manufacturer factory can’t identify the defect and select it out during production, it is very low probability but still happen.

Both of dent on bottle and poor insulation manufacturing faulty bottle can’t be fixed, you have to return it back to seller for return back.

How do you tell if your Hydroflask is broken?You can test the insulation of your flask at home with boiling water. Pour from a kettle or pot directly into the hydro flask, filling it all the way to the neck. Exercise caution pouring boiling water into the flask to avoid burns. Do not hold the flask while filling with boiling water. Also, do not place the cap over the flask. After about 5 minutes, feel the outside of the flask (below the neck). If you feel any hot spots, the insulation has been compromised.
