Manufacturing processes of powder coating

1. Pre-processing:
Purpose: to remove oil, dust, and rust on the surface of the workpiece, and to generate a “phosphating layer” on the surface of the workpiece that resists corrosion and can increase the adhesion of the spray coating.
Main process steps: oil removal, rust removal, phosphating and passivation. After pre-treatment, not only the surface of the workpiece is free of oil, rust, and dust, but also a uniform and rough gray phosphating film that is not easy to rust is formed on the original silver-white shiny surface, which can not only prevent rust but also increase the plastic spray layer. of adhesion.

2. Electrostatic spraying
Purpose: Spray powder coating evenly onto the surface of the workpiece. Special workpieces (including locations where electrostatic shielding is prone to occur) should be sprayed using a high-performance electrostatic spray machine.
Process steps:
Using the principle of electrostatic adsorption, spray a layer of powder coating evenly on the surface of the workpiece;
The fallen powder is recovered through the recovery system and can be reused after sieving.

3. High temperature curing
Purpose: Heat the powder coating on the surface of the workpiece to a specified temperature and keep it warm for a corresponding time to melt, level and solidify it, thereby obtaining the desired surface effect of the workpiece.
Process steps: Push the sprayed workpiece into the curing furnace, heat it to a predetermined temperature (usually 185 degrees), and keep it warm for a corresponding time (15 minutes); open the furnace and take it out to cool down to get the finished product. Generally, different workpieces have different heating temperatures and holding times.
Tip: Heating and control system (including electric heating, oil, gas, coal and other heating methods) + insulation box = curing furnace.

4. Take out and cool down
Cooling out of the oven is a process of cooling the result of the spray molding process to return it to normal temperature.

Inspection Standards for powder coating steel water bottles

The appearance is inspected by visual inspection.

1. Spraying color: The spraying color should be consistent with the selected sample or color plate. The surface of the sprayed product should be uniform in color and there should be no obvious color difference by visual inspection.

2. Thickness of the spray coating: The thickness of the spray coating should meet the design and use requirements. The thickness of the spray coating should be uniform and have strong adhesion.

3. Product cleanliness: The visible surface parts inside and outside the product should be clean and free of stains, oil stains and other contaminants that affect the appearance. White traces left behind after finger scratches are not allowed.
